Hairwraps and Dreadwraps
Looking for a handmade hair wrap? View the unique collection of Dreads & Frutsels Hair wraps have been a permanent part of our collection from the very beginning. They immediately appealed to people with dreadlocks, but also to everyone who wants to add that little bit extra to their hair. And we understand that. Because a hair wrap is not only beautiful, but also super easy to use. You tie the wrap in your hair, don't do anything difficult with it, and suddenly your whole look looks different.
Hair wraps are suitable for any hairstyle
Do you wear your dreadlocks loose, in a braid, do you have curls, straight hair or a beautiful full bun? It doesn't matter. A good hair wrap always fits. Some people use them daily, others only for a festival or special occasion. The nice thing is: you can easily apply it and remove it just as easily.
You don't have to sew or click anything. No permanent hassle. Today you wear a hair wrap, tomorrow something else, or just the same again. And because every hair wrap is handmade, you always wear something unique. No mass, no copies, but really your style.
What makes our collection special is the diversity. We work with makers from different countries, from small creative studios in the Netherlands to craftsmen in Hungary, France and Denmark. All hair wraps are handmade and inspired by nature and spiritual elements. Think Viking vibes, an elf look or a bohemian style.

Dreadwraps and hair wraps with character

How do you use a hair wrap?
Using a hair wrap is not rocket science.
Do you have loose hair?
Then you braid a small section and work the loop of the wrap into the braid.
For dreadlocks, you pull the loop of the hair wrap through itself and slide it around your dreadlock.
It fits securely and stays in place for as long as you want it to.
Some wraps have a bead or ring for extra attachment.
This provides even more variety.
You will also see these bead wraps among the products on this page.
Each wrap has a photo or short explanation on how to attach it.
And do you have any questions?
We will of course be happy to help you further.
Extra tip: do you want your hairwrap to stay beautiful for a long time? Take it out when you go to sleep or shower. That way it stays fresh and in shape for longer.
Every hair wrap is different. Unique in color, style, length and finish. That's why it's useful to take a look at which elements suit you.
For example, consider:
Length: short and playful or extra long for a striking effect, I personally always like it when the wrap is longer than your own dreads. That way they really stand out :)
Style: do you like natural, tribal, colorful or calm and earthy?
Attachment: with a loop or bead? (Beadwrap)
So you don't just choose an accessory, but something that really suits you. And with the changing collection there are always new creations to discover.
Buying hair wraps, what should you pay attention to?

Materials with a story – from ceramics to electroforming

What makes our hair wraps extra special is the care and creativity that goes into every detail.
Not only the yarn or the fabric, but also the charms, pendants and beads make each wrap unique.
Take the wraps from Hungary, for example: they often have ceramic pendants that are hand-made, then fired in a kiln and then glazed.
So no mass production, but real craftsmanship.
In addition, many hair wraps also contain gemstones, each with their own effect.
These stones give your hair wrap just that little bit of extra energy and meaning.
Sometimes the technique of electroforming is also used. In this technique, real leaves or flowers from nature are processed with copper, so that the original leaf is preserved in detail but then as a piece of jewelry.
This way you literally carry a piece of nature with you, incorporated into your hair wrap.
Frequently asked questions about hairwraps & dreadwraps
Can I wear a hair wrap without dreads?
Definitely. Hairwraps are actually super cool in regular hair. Braid a thin strand and work the wrap in with the loop. You're done.
2. Does a hair wrap stay in place?
If you attach it properly, it will stay really firmly in place. Sometimes for weeks or even months. But you can just as easily take it out again if you want something different.
3. What material are your dread wraps made of?
Everything: wool, cotton, silk, ceramics, beads, wood... and many wraps are vegan. Everything is handmade and carefully selected.
4. Can I shower with a hair wrap?
Preferably not. For the life of your wrap it is smart to take it out before showering or sleeping.
